Yayasan Pondok Kasih exists to give hope to the poor and needy, grassroots, and the most marginalized people in society. In its earlier stage, Yayasan Pondok Kasih established itself as an orphanage for unwanted babies, orphans, and a home for abandoned old women. However, ever since the national crisis in 1997, we have been challenged to answer the urgent-needs to communicate all over Surabaya, hence, our humanitarian programs, and activities were born.
It’s only by God’s grace and provision through faithful support of our board, donors, staff, and volunteers that we’ve been able to do what we have been doing, are now doing, and will be doing in the future, that is, serving the poor in Indonesia from the lip of North Sumatera to the south part of Papua. We are also thankful that Yayasan Pondok Kasih is able to connect with different key people and institutions in Indonesia and abroad: central, provincial, and local governments, community leaders, religious leaders, public figures, Islamic boarding school, social organizations, and churches. This has made Yayasan Pondok Kasih an agent of peace, harmony, and unity. We invite you to see how God has miraculously worked to shape Yayasan Pondok Kasih over the years and get a glimpse of where we are today.
